The G!!!

So as you may not of noticed, this year we haven't really experienced a winter. I think we got enough snow to make a snowman once and it was gone the next day. Well today was an especially nice day and it's a Saturday, so me and Dusty decided that we wanted to hike to the G! Now some of you may not know, but that isn't the easiest of hikes for a person. It is mostly a really steep grade up. I did it all last year almost dying by the end, but I did it!!! This year was my first time and it was sooooo much easier than the very last time I did it last year. Don't get me wrong, I was still gasping for air at the end, but it just seemed easier to me. I guess my almost 100 pound weight loss could have something to do with it huh?? I am so excited for spring and summer this year! Camping and hiking and biking here we come. And look out cause you will not defeat me this year!! I will kick you square in the ass!!! I just want to thank my family and friends (especially you ww girls who inspire me all the time) for supporting me and helping me to achieve things that I never knew I wanted. I LOVE MY LIFE!!!

I know this is a little late, but better late than never right? We spent Christmas at home this year. Just our little family hanging out. Me and Dusty woke up before the kids. This happens almost every year. We have not had a early xmas yet. Its been really nice. I know it won't last forever, so we cherish it!! Here are a couple of pictures of what the kids got. Jordyn got a password journal and a real fun game called Headbands and Ryan got a couple board games to play with his dad like Chess and Checkers and Battleship. They had fun playing those together on Christmas morning. Good Xmas this year! Me and Dusty got the best present of all I think though. We were able to pay off our house and his school loans this year! Dusty cashed in some stocks from work and it payed off our house and school loans, plus a couple little things like new carpet!!! We are so fortunate in our lives. We thank God everyday for all the wonderful people and things that he has blessed us to have.

Kids are out of school and Christmas is around the corner so why not make some cookies and gingerbread houses right??? I had a blast with the kids making these it was was so much fun! The gingerbread houses were funnest. Seeing the kids come up with some fun ideas on their own was so fun to watch. Good Times!!!

Every year we go up to the temple to look at all the pretty lights. This year was no different :) We went out to dinner than caught Trax to go to the temple. The kids enjoyed swinging on the handrails in the trax train on the way up. On the way back it was standing room only, so they couldn't do it then. It was so pretty and decorated. I love looking at the lights there. It was a great evening with my sisters and our kids. Loved it!!! Here are some of the many pics we took :)

My super awesome sister Kim flew me and my other sister Michelle out to Boston for the weekend of the 3rd for another girls trip. We have been so fortunate to be able to take girls trips together a couple times, and I thoroughly enjoy them. It is sister time and there is nothing better than that :) The first night we went to Salem to see all the cool witch trial stuff and see a lighthouse. Its gets dark there at 4 and everything, I mean EVERYTHING closes at 4. It was really weird :) Seeing and hearing all about the Salem witch trials was really cool. Then we went to a local brewery and has some yummy food and some yummy beer. The next day we went around Boston looking at all the historic sights and freaking awesome architecture. I love Boston!! The buildings are just so cool and it is full of so much history that we couldn't cram it all in to our little trip. We went on a trolley tour and on a walking tour and still didn't get to see all we wanted to. The next day we hurried and went and saw some more lighthouses before we flew out. They are pretty cool, but mostly seen from the water, so guess we will have to go another time when the boat rides are open. :) I am so grateful for the opportunity to be able to have these special times with my sisters. Hopefully someday I will be able to plan and pay for one of these trips too! LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!!!! Hey guess what??? I LOVED IT!!!

Thanksgiving 2011

This year for Thanksgiving we decided to do dinner at our house with just us and my sister Kim. That morning we woke up and I put the turkey breast in the crock pot and then we all headed out to do a 5k at the temple that benefited a little boy who has cancer. So we got in some exercise and they raised some money for him. Then we came home and started making the feast. Kim made a nummy relish tray to snack on during the process. After dinner we decided to take a walk to the park and had a really fun time. It was a great and simple Thanksgiving. I am soooo thankful for my family, immediate and extended!

I can't believe it has already been 7 years since my baby girl was born. It seems like it was just yesterday she was this little baby and now she is a big 7 year old. You are my sweet, creative, opinionated, emotional, "fashionable" and beautiful girl. I have loved you ever since I found out that I was going to have another baby. You are such a sweet girl who always wants to do things with family and always comes up with these cute little "creations" :) You say when you grow up you want to be an artist and a rock star and I think if you put your mind to it, you can do whatever you want. You are so creative and are always coloring or playing with play dough. I love the diva in you, even though she is a big pain in the butt sometimes. You love fashion and have to look cute all the time. I love/loath this about you. You are my sweet little monkey and I am so glad that you chose me to be your mom!!! Happy Bday my baby girl!!

Halloween!

The kids Halloween costumes this year were super easy to do, so that was really nice come Monday morning. Jordyn was a Utah Utes cheerleader, Ryan was a Mad Scientist and I was a Sexy Pirate. It was really fun dressing up this year. I usually don't dress up, but since I've lost so much weight decided to celebrate with a fun costume. The kids had a super fun time this year. We went to spanish fork to a free haunted house and around the neighborhood there. It was a great night!!!

Forgot I had pictures for this one :) Me, Dusty, Kim and Jason all went to the 2nd Annual Utah Beer Festival in August. It was really fun. They had music, good food and a lot of different beer from local breweries. This is the second one for Dusty and Jason, but me and Kims first. It was a real blast. We got a ton of free stuff like pins and tattoos, and it was just a nice day to hang out. Good times. I think I may go next year ;)

Hey just a quick post to say HEY I"M STILL ALIVE!!! Life has just been crazy right now trying to fit in extra activities while the weather is still nice. And of course for all these lovely activities I haven't brought my camera. OOOPS! Oh well. A couple weekends ago we went to Idaho and went up the mtns and the kids and Dusty and his family went biking. Dusty crashed over his handlebars, all is well just a little scraped up. Then the next day while Dusty rested at his moms I took my niece and my 2 kids to vineyard lakes to go cliff jumping. I didn't jump, but Ryan and my nephews and niece did. I just swam. I'm still to much of a chicken to jump. Two weekends ago we went on a hike up grovecreek canyon. The shoes I was wearing sucked and I started getting blisters, so we had to turn around. It made me really mad because this was the first time that I wanted to continue but couldn't. Last weekend was Dustys bday and me and him went out to Brewvies and had some beer and watched a movie. It was pretty nice just the two of us. Then on his bday we had a yard sale at my sisters and ended up bbqing and spending the night. Pretty active weekends we have been having and I am loving it. Spending time with family and getting some activity points all in one is my kind of weekend :)

Okay so my pictures are a little out of order, but there are to many to switch around. Here are just a sliver of the pics from our trip to California and Vegas. It was the most AWESOME vacation!! The kids absolutely loved it. Disneyland was super fun, but I honestly think Ryans favorite part was the beach. We got there and he ran into the ocean and didn't come out till we made him. Jordyns was Disneyland and California Adventure for sure. She was little miss daredevil. Without fail her arms were up on any ride we went on. Tower of Terror scared me, but Jordyn loved it. As soon as we got off she wanted to go again. It was a really great trip. I have more pics on facebook, but they still aren't all there. LOVED THIS TRIP. THANKS KIM FOR TAKING US!!! YOU ARE AWESOME!!!

It's that time of year again. The first day of school. The kids were super excited and ready to go. I can't believe both my kids are in all day school now. They are growing up so fast its insane! This year Jordyn and Ryan both picked out their school clothes and backpacks, yet another thing that tells me they are growing up to fast. At least Jordyn lets me decide how her hair is going to be...........well sometimes.

As you can see Ryan is trying to grow his out and its driving me crazy!!! But I have to let him be his own person. So I will deal with the mop on top his head :)

This past weekend we went to Jordanelle reservoir and campground for their Fire on the Water thing they do. It is pretty cool. They have a band and people decorate their boats and you can sit on the water or the grass and watch the fireworks. This was our first time going and it was pretty cool. Jason brought his dads boat and took us out on the water and we had a blast. The second day the boys went out fishing while me and kim stayed with the kids on the beach part and swam a bit. It was really fun!!!

Wow its been a while!

I can't believe how long its been since my last post. I am usually so much better at this. I guess with school and the fun summer we have been having that this has took the back burner. So I am going to try and play catch up with everything, so bear with me :)
Me and Kim's friend from High School posted on facebook about a hike up dry creek and so we decided to check it out. Its a pretty low key hike, but good for kids. I really enjoyed it. I'm really into hikes right now and hope to do the Grove creek to battle creek this summer!

Jason's dad has a boat and we took it out on deer creek reservoir. It was a blast. Just some nice adult time which was good. We just trolled around the reservoir and got some rays. We did get in the water for a minute, but it was super super cold, so we just pretty much stayed in the boat.

Towards the end of the trip, Dusty was dared to jump in and being the person he is, he did it.

Kim and Jason finally went out and bought a canoe. They have been wanting one for years, and decided this was the year to do it. So, of course, me and dusty were all over going to payson lakes and helping them break it in. Me, Dusty and the kids went camping and met them at payson lakes to do some boating/swimming/fishing. These pics are from 3 different times of going, but its basically all the same right??

I think this will be the last update :) If not, get over it I already did. Just Kidding!!! For the fourth of July my Aunt Cennie had us all over to watch the pg fireworks from her backyard. It was great being around my cousins I hardly ever see, but live right by.

Happy Fathers Day!

I just wanted to take this time today on Fathers Day to say how much I love my dad. My dad is the most awesome person I have ever met. He does so much for his family and has sacrificed so much for his family throughout the years. He raised us kids basically by himself since I was 15 and did a great job. We weren't close until after my mom died, but now we are as close as close can be. I know that I can ask him anything and he will go out of his way to do what he can for me. I love you dad!!!! U are my SUPERMAN!!!!!

I also wanted to take this time to say Happy Fathers Day to Dustys dad. Dusty lost his dad when he was 7 years old, and didn't get the chance to spend the time with him that he wanted, but from what he does remember, his dad was an awesome person. He took them on wagon rides with the lawn mower and introduced Dusty to his love.........HOT BATHS! I wish I could of had the chance to meet him, but from what I have heard he was a very dedicated father and husband. Happy Fathers Day Donald Kay Asher!

I went to Hobby Lobby the other day and they had all of their flowers 50% off. I was super excited. I had been eyeing these flowers forever, but they were $3 a pop, and I wasn't going to spend that much, but I would do that for 2. So i snatched them up and came home and made Jordyn some hair things out of them. The zebra looking ones had the jewels already with them. I need to find me some big jewels like that, the look super cute in hair things. The others just had flower type middles and I put my decorative brads in some, but thought they looked to small, so the others i just left the flower things. So excited for her to wear these!!

For weeks now Dusty has been asking me to get him some pictures of our family and stuff to put in his office and being the slacker that I am I haven't done it yet. So last night while I was at school Jordyn was hanging out with her dad and she decided to make him some pictures of our family! Okay, so pretty much any 6 year old can draw a picture right?? Well do they pay as much attention to detail as Jordyn?? I was amazed when I saw these. The detail that she puts into them are amazing. Love her and her super special drawings. It makes me not want to throw anything away that she does.

This picture is one of her and her dad hiking. Notice that they have their water packs on, but they are facing you so you can only see part of them. I would have just drawn the straps, but she drew part of the packs too!!!

This one is the one that really amazed me. This is a picture of me giving the kids kisses at bedtime. She has me in my scrubs (cause during the week I barely get home from school in enough time to give them kisses), she has her butterfly decoration that is on her wall. She has the light in the room, Ryan on the bottom bunk, Leo, our dog, underneath the bed where he always sleeps and both of their Easter baskets that are sitting on their floor right now.

It may just be me, but I think my daughter is one of the most talented 6 year old I have ever seen. LOVE YOU JORDYN MAE!!!!!!

I haven't wrote on here in a while, so I thought I better update a little bit :) I just hate doing posts without pictures, but o well. So I am starting school to become a medical assistant and I am a little scared. I haven't been in school for almost 15 years and I am a little out of practice. I think I will survive, but I am just nervous. Dusty is working his butt off at Fusion-i.o. The company has really been growing and it is exciting. He got his first handgun and loves it. With the start of spring he is getting more into the biking and wanting to go hiking, and I can't wait. I need some outside exercise, this inside stuff is killing me :) Ryan is a typical 8 year old boy. He still wants to play games all the time, but we try and limit it to 1 hour a day. He has recently got a new friend that comes over all the time and wants to play outside, so that is good for him. He is working hard at scouts and earning belt loops and arrows all the time. Jordyn is still a little munchkin!! She is loving kindergarten and learning to read and spell. She is still such a little artist. She is constantly drawing pictures of what the current holiday is. Right now it is bunnies and they are better than I could ever draw. Life is good right now, I couldn't ask for a better family!

Since I am changing my kitchen from the flag theme to the black, white and red theme I thought this would look perfect...............and it does!!!

I have been all about craft projects lately. I am just in a crafty mood right now :) My latest one was these plates in my kitchen. I got the black plates from all a dollar and printed the vinyl at the mall. I could have done the vinyl myself, but it was actually cheaper to just have the people at the mall do it, so why not right? I took the vinyl home and put it on the plates and they look way cute!!! So excited to start my next project. What that will be I am not sure yet, but I am sure it will be amazing!!!

Dusty got a nice little bonus from work a couple of weeks back and he decided that he wanted to buy this gun he has been wanting FOREVER!!! He got it and immediately wanted to take it shooting :) Unfortunately the weather was not on his side. He had to wait a whole week before he could take it shooting. Now for anyone a whole week wait to do something that you really want to do is like eternity! When the weather finally agreed we went on the other side of Utah lake and took it shooting. I have to say it is a pretty cool gun. I don't like guns really, but this one is pretty cool. Next time we take it, I will definitely need to bring ear plugs because my ears were ringing after shooting it once. Both kids got to shoot it too. Ryan loved it, Jordyn was like EH! I think next time Ryan and Dusty will go shooting and me and Jordyn will go get our nails done :)

Can I just say that I absolutely love the cute blocks that crafters corner has for the holidays!!! I am so stoked to go in and get them and come home and paint them. I am going to be really sad when I have all my holidays covered :( This is my latest buy :) You can't see the colors really good, but they all have sparkles and the u is actually gold not yellow. They look ALOT better in person, but here is your view. I am super stoked for the Spring and Easter ones. They are soooooo cute!!! LOVE THEM!

Adopt a' do website has the most fantastic and adorable hairstyles for girls of any age. I have been doing Jordyns hair from this blog for almost a year and I always get the best responses on her hair. If you haven't already seen it (which I would be surprised if you haven't) you should check them out. You will not find one hairdo on there that you cannot do and that isn't absolutely adorable!!!!

So I am always trying to figure out new and cute ideas for teacher gifts. I don't like to be original or plain and just buy them something(not saying that I don't do that once in a while, but I don't like to). So my sister gave me these tins and I saw this fabulous paper from stampin up and I just came up with this cute idea. I know this has been done before and whatever, but I still think it is somewhat original. I think they turned out wonderful too. I am so happy with them!!! I love creating!

I went to my favorite store, Crafter's Corner, yesterday and found these blocks and decided that I had to have them. This is my new favorite thing to do, paint and mod podge blocks! I think that they turned out super cute!! You probably can't tell, but the red heart and the e are sparkle red and the clovers are sparkle green too!!! I think I might have to get cute blocks like this for every holiday!!! The Easter and Thanksgiving ones they have are soooo cute. They have a bunny and a turkey as one of the letters!!! Love when I get crafty!!!

I saw this idea over at Sunny Tuesdays and had to make it. All the headbands we have are so hard to store. They are just awkward and some are pretty big. I love this idea and it will look great in Jordyns room after I get it painted and all that Jazz. For now it is in the bathroom next to the bow hanger I made. Such cute and easy ideas to organize. Can I just say I LOVE to organize!!! To see things all neat and in their place, puts a smile on my face.

Jordyn has been thinking about cutting her hair for a while now, but we decided to wait till it was long enough to donate to locks of love, which is 10 inches. So today we went to the salon and had them chop it off. I was so excited for Jordyn. She looks so cute with short hair and it is a nice little change for her too. Dusty was sad. He loves her long hair, as do I, but she wanted a change. We let her decide to do it because we didn't want her being mad because she got her hair cut. She loves it, and so do I.

Warning long post!!!!-Christmas fun!!

Okay so I am finally getting around to blogging about what we did over the Christmas holiday :) The Thursday before Christmas my side of the family got together at my house for dinner and gifts and all that. My present to the family was making dinner. I got them all a little something, but my main present was making the dinner. My dad and his girlfriend and her family came over and so did my sisters and their families and of course my brother. I was really fun. Most of them all slept over because everyone drank and there was to be no drunk driving!!! Here are the girls playing dress up! They love to have fun together.

As you can imagine when we drink we like to sing. Well one of our favorite christmas songs is please daddy by john denver and o can us stoker girls sing when we get a little alcohol in our system. There is a video, but I hope that it is never released to the public..............yes it is that bad. :)

Dusty surprised me big time this year!! I lost my wedding ring 2 years ago and Dustys mom gave us hers to replace it. We had to get it sized and fixed and so it was in the jeweler and wasn't going to be able to come out till the middle of January because we couldn't afford it till then. Well he was able to get the money to pay for it because of a bonus from work and some help from my awesome sister Kim. So he gave me my present in a big square box. It looked nothing like a ring box at all, so I assumed it wasn't that. Well he had wrapped it in a bigger box. It was so awesome. I cried.

This is the awesome dinner I made. We had rolls, potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, homemade stuffing, ham and a crazy good pretzel jello dessert!

The next day my awesome sister took us all up to soilder hollow to go tubing. Can I just say that that is the only way to tube!!! They have these big hills that are crazy fun to go down and they haul you up the hill so you don't have to do any walking!! It was great!!!! The boys especially had fun.........now when I say boys I mean the men. They were spinning and racing and just being like little kids!!! It was AWESOME!!! Jordyn got cold towards the end, but we all had a great time!
My dad even got into it!! I have to say it was awesome seeing my dad tubing. I don't remember from when I was little, but he was like a kid in a candy store. As soon as he was down he would run right back in line to go again.

The next day was christmas and to my surprise my kids did not wake me up at the butt crack of dawn. In fact we only woke up because someone called the house and it woke us up! The kids were super excited about all their presents. They both loved their pillow pets and the"MEN" loved ryans new Kinect set. They dug right in and started building a helicopter!

Me, Dusty and the kids, Kim, Shelly, Shane, Garrett and their neighbor Dustin all went up to Temple Square on Saturday. My parents used to take us when we were little and I loved seeing all the lights and the temple and I wanted to share the same experience with my kids. We decided it would be fun for the kids, and us :), to take traks there. The kids loved it. It was there first "train"ride! Once we got there we walked around and saw the lights and the nativity and stuff. This always makes me in the Christmas spirit hearing the story of the first Christmas and things.

So with the first snow and with it being so close to Thanksgiving I couldn't resist putting up my decorations! I have been holding myself back, but now I must do it!!! With it snowing outside and stuff it just seemed right. I brought my Xmas stuff in, found the John Denver Xmas CD and got to work! Christmas isn't Christmas without John Denver Christmas songs. My mom always listened to them when we were younger and now it just seems like they belong together. I usually put the tree and stuff up by myself, but this year I got the kids and Dusty to help. It was great spending time with the family like that. Good times. Here are some pictures of our decor. I have lights outside too, but it is to light to see them. I will post a pic later of them. I don't know if I am a bad mom or what, but my kids have never made a snowman at our house!Ryan has made one at school, but we have never made one at our house. I can't believe that! We go sledding and stuff, but never that. So this morning when my kids woke up and saw snow they immediately got their gear on and went out to create a snowman. It was so cute watching them work together and make the snowman. They even sacrificed some of their rocks out of their collections for the eyes and the tooth for the mouth :0) I love my little kids and can't wait to go sledding and have tons of fun with them this year. I haven't realized how much I have missed being so overweight. But now that I have lost weight and have more energy I am going to make the most of the season. These are the things kids remember when they grow up. It isn't the presents they receive, it's the times spent doing things with family!!!

Much like ALOT of other people that I know, my email was hacked. Apparently I sent a bunch of emails to other people that also made it so there emails got hacked. If that isn't enough, somehow someone got a hold of my debit card info and was able to make there own and spent $650 in Texas. Luckily the bank called me and asked about the purchases and I let them know that they were not done by me and they are going to reimburse me. I just hate how someone would do that to another human being. Steal that money from someone. Dishonest people suck!!!!

My sister-n-law Lacey made Jordyn a dress and there was left over fabric, so I made her the blue bows below to match. They are so cute!!! Then her outfit she is going to wear on her bday matches the pink ones below. I am in love with these bows. I saw another way to make some on Good Things Utah that I am going to try later.

Well I am finally posting about Halloween! I am usually really on top of things like posting about holidays and stuff, but lately I have been busy. I went to both the kids Halloween parades at school on Friday. Then on Saturday we went to Lindas house and tuffed it out in the rain at her neighborhoods trunk-r-treat! Afterwards we went down to Shellys house because Shane wanted to see his niece and nephew in their costumes. It wasn't raining there so we went to a couple houses so the kids got the "full" experience! All in all it was a pretty low key and fun Halloween!

My sister-in-law, Lacey, is such a little seamstress! She amazes me! I wish I had the talent that she does. She made a dress like this for her daughter Gracie and I had to have one for Jordyn. So we went to walmart and picked out the fabric and she took it home and made it for me. I love it. It makes me want to learn to sew knowing I can make cute things like this! Thanks so much Lacey!!! One of the main reasons, besides seeing family, that I wanted to go to Mesquite was to see the marker that my extended family made for my mom. She died 15 years ago and I still haven't been to the spot where she died to see the marker that they made for her. It was a hard thing to do. When I got there and looked around I could just picture in my head what happened. I could see it in my mind so clearly that it was super hard. I am so glad that I went though. I am so glad that I have the memories that I have of her, and that I know that she is watching over me and I will see her again someday. Its what gets me through some days.

I have not posted in a while!! That is so not like me :) I have been busy with family and just to lazy to do anything I guess. So here comes a couple of posts for the time lost!! Me and my sister went to Mesquite to visit some family we haven't seen in like 15 years!! It was soooooooooooooo much fun. It didn't even seem like time had passed at all. We stayed with my Aunt Lori the first night and went to a fall festival and saw her daughter, Alicia(?sp) sing. That night we went to my cousin Leslies house and we went to a casino and hung out and danced the night away, needless to say the next morning was not so fun for some of us!! It was an awesome trip and we need to make it a yearly thing. Andy was unable to come because he had to work, so next trip he needs to be there for sure!!

2 weeks ago we went up to spend the last night camping with my sister, her husband, my dad and some friends while they were hunting. It was a blast. I love camping, so I am going to go at any opportunity. Ryan actually spent the whole week with them, and had fun learning how to shoot and riding 4 wheelers. 15 years ago today my very best friend died......My Mom. She was one of the best people I have ever known. She was a shoulder for me to cry on, and a friend that I could stay up all night with just talking. I had her in my life for 16 years and I treasure each and every one of them. I am so fortunate to have as many memories of her that I have. My little brother was only 7 when she died and doesn't remember her very well, which is so sad to me because she was such an amazing person. I don't go a day without thinking of her or talking to her. She is my angel in heaven. I love you and miss you like crazy mom. LOVE YOU!!!

Goblin Valley

Dustys friend Noji invited us to come to Goblin Valley for part of Labor Day weekend. We arrived late Thursday night and came home on Saturday. I have never been down there before and thought it would be a fun time. Little did I know how much. It is the most beautiful place. The rocks and mountains are amazing!!! We went on a hike and saw some of the coolest things. It got to a point where we had to put our feet just one in front of the other and your shoulders would barely fit, but if you looked up it was amazing. The color of the sandstones and stuff were amazing! Then we went to Goblin Valley and it was so big and beautiful. You could climb up these rocks that we so awesome! The kids had an amazing time and met some new friends! We definitely plan on going back and going to The Arches and stuff. Pictures do not do this place justice. AMAZING!!!

First day of Kindergarten!

Today Jordyn had her very first day of Kindergarten :( It was a little sad for me. This is the last time that I will have a child of mine start Kindergarten. She is growing up to fast and right before my eyes. She was the one who decided what she was gonna wear and how her hair was going to be done. I am very proud and scared about her skills in dressing herself! I better watch out! I think I may have a clothes diva on my hands! I drove her to school and walked her to her class. Then I stood outside for a little bit just watching her through the window. I didn't feel weird about it either because I wasn't the only one :) I didn't cry, which I am very proud of myself for. I am such a ball baby that I thought that I might, but I didn't. When I picked her up she told me about her day and then we went to the Olive Garden for our first day of Kindergarten lunch I do with the kids. It was a bitter sweet day, but a good one!!!

Ryan started his first day of second grade today. I can't believe how grown up he is getting. It seems like just yesterday I was teaching him how to walk and now he is 8 years old and heading off to second grade. He is such an independent little boy too. He has his own alarm clock to wake him up, and he wakes up just fine, unlike his sister :) He gets up and gets breakfast and gets dressed and brushes his teeth, without me even having to pester him about it at all. He is growing up so much I wish I had a watch to turn back time. I love you Ryan "D"!!! Have a wonderful first day of school!

There is a new store in American Fork called crafters corner and I am in love with it!!! They have a ton of stuff from jewelry to wooden blocks. I went in their the other day and bought these blocks, took them home and painted them. Then I modgepodged the s and the e with scrapbook paper and this is what I got. I am totally in love with them!!! They look awesome!!!

So my little boy turned 8 yesterday :( I cannot believe that my little boy is already eight years old. Time flies by so fast. I can't believe how much of a little man he is becoming. He starts boy scouts on Tuesday and second grade on the 25th. We celebrated his bday in Idaho at his grandmas house. He wanted quesadillas for dinner, so all the family came over and celebrated it with him. His cousin Katherine was super awesome and made him a spongebob cupcake cake. All in all I think it was a pretty good bday for my "little" man.

Kennecott copper mines are doing free admission this whole week, so I decided to take the kids and check it out. It was actually a pretty neat place. We got to see a bunch of different minerals and watch a movie about the mine, but the kids favorite part was seeing the BIG trucks. Ryan just thought they were the coolest thing on this planet. After the mine we were on our way home and I decided to take the kids to the splash park that is in Riverton. It is a pretty cool place and the kids loved it. Jordyn got really cold after a little bit, but she still had fun. They got wet in their clothes because we didn't plan on going to the splash park. All in all it was a good day spent with my kiddos!

I took the kids to the steel days carnival today. It is kind of a tradition for us, plus it is the cheapest time to take them to the carnival because they sell their tickets in advance. The kids loved it. Jordyn is my little dare devil. She wanted to go on all the rides that were for teenagers. Unfortunately, she is to short to go on them, so she had to deal with just going on the Gee Wizz. They had a ball!

Ryan was in coach pitch baseball again this year. He has improved so much since last year. His stance is good and he has a pretty good eye for the ball. Today was his last game. It was a pretty good game. After it was over his team, the Scorpions, did their last cheer and then were handed out their medals. His coaches wife made them all these necklaces with candy wrapped up in them, which was really cool of her! He loved it and can't wait for machine pitch next year!!!

Hike to Stewart Falls!

We went on a hike today to Stewart Falls up Provo canyon. It was a really nice hike. The weather was perfect and it wasn't very bad as far as going up hill and such. Becca brought her two kids she nannies and their friend, and Linda and Reggie and Julia came too. It was a great day for a hike, but not one to play in the falls. That was fine with me because walking back with wet socks and shoes really sucks. It was a great way to start the holiday weekend, which ended in us going to the Pleasant Grove fireworks. They were a little bit more exciting this year because right at the beginning, some fireworks starting shooting into the audience and then a few minutes later one actually went into the audience and blew up. Luckily no one was hurt and we finished them out then went home.............with a side detour back to the junior high to get my phone that fell out of my chair in my hurry to get out of there :)

HERNIA!!!!

So as many of you may know I went to the doctor and found out that I have a hernia. I went to a surgery doctor and she sent me to get a CT scan, and low and behold not only do I have a hernia, but I have a BIG hernia. The size of the hole is around 3 to 4 inches and 1/4 of my intestines and some of my bladder are through that lovely hole. Weirdly enough she doesn't suggest that I get the surgery right away. She suggests that I wait around 6 months and continue to lose weight as I have been, then go to a hernia specialist and get the surgery then. My BMI is high enough right now, that if I got the surgery now I would have a 50% chance of getting another hernia, and have a worse recovery from that one, because of all the scar tissue from the one I have right now. Losing weight will help my recovery time, my surgery, and help me to not get another one later down the road. So, unless I start feeling lots of pain, I am to wait 6 months to have my surgery. Good or Bad..............I am not sure what this news is, but I am going to continue to do my weight loss stuff and hope that it helps me to get this hernia taken care of.

Hike up Mt. Hahogany

On Sunday we decided to go on a hike up A.F. canyon to Mt. Mahogany. You drive up the canyon and go on Timpanookee road all the way and there you will run into the trail. It was a decent hike. There were some strenuous parts, and some easy parts. All in all it was a fun hike and a great view of the valley. It is amazing how I have lived in Utah mostly all of my life and have never been to so many places. It is amazing how much you are missing by staying in a car. Hiking is my new best friend. I am still struggling a little bit because of my weight, but as I am losing weight I am doing so much more! We had a great time. We even found an awesome camping spot right by it! Here are just a few pics from our hike!

So this past weekend me, Dusty and the kids went out looking for some free camping spots close by that we might be able to go to this summer and stumbled upon a hiking trail in Alpine! I have lived in Utah my whole life and had no idea that that trail was there. Of course I cannot remember what it is called, but I am super excited to go hiking on it. Apparently it goes from Alpine all the way up to Granite Flats campground up AF canyon. It goes a bunch of other place too, but that is where I remember :) Anyway just wanted to say how super excited I am to go camping and hiking a bunch this summer, and if anyone has some good, free camping spots they have found and want to pass on the info. it would be greatly appreciated!

So I did it! I walked a 5k over the weekend. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I guess I am in a lot better shape than I thought I was! Me, my sister Shelly, my 2 sister in laws Linda and Lisa, Dusty and my niece Julia all walked. We ended up all getting separated because some are fast Thanks guys for coming out and supporting me and Shelly in this. It means A LOT!!! Stupid me forgot my camera, but luckily Lisa remembered to bring hers! So here is one pic. and as soon as I get the rest I will put some more on here! I plan on walking at least 2 more this summer..............Why not right??

So to pass the time me, Chad and Linda's family all went to the local bowling alley in Burley while we were there over Memorial Day weekend. Went to the end of the year dance festival at Ryans school and it was great!!! They danced to you got a friend in need from Toy Story. He wanted me to record it, so I just got a couple of pictures of him in his seat and walking in. It was so cute! I had a wonderful mothers day this year!!!! I woke up to Dusty making breakfast burritos and my kids giving me their hand made gifts that were super cute, then we went to Walmart and got my tomato plants. We came home and the kids and Dusty helped me weed the flower bed so we could plant the tomato plants! That was the best part. I hate weeding them, and to have them help me was super awesome!!! Then Dusty cut some of the branches off of the tree in the backyard that have been bugging me! Then tonight a BBQ with my family!

I don't post on here about my weight loss journey much because me and my sister, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law have our own little weight loss blog, but I am so excited about my success that I must share. I am 298! I started last summer at 345. I have been really trying at it for the past 15 weeks. I joined weight watchers 15 weeks ago and since joining I have lost 19Lbs. I feel so wonderful it amazes me! I have so much energy and love going outdoors and doing stuff! I am really loving life right now and it will just get better from here on out! I am bound and determined to loose this weight. I need to lose it. I will lose it!

We took her to the church parking lot and Dusty started to help her go and she just took off right away!! It was awesome! She caught on soooo fast! Me and Dusty were a little scared about teaching her because she is such a little klutz, but she did it no problem! I am so proud of my little girl!

Today is me and Dusty's 10 year Anniversary!!! I can't believe it has already been 10 years. I have to say it has been the best 10 years of my life! I love you Dusty more than you will ever know and I love that you do so much for me and the kids. You are such a selfless person and I admire that in you! We don't have any $$ to do anything for our anniversary today, but on the 23rd weekend we are going to go on a little getaway for us-post will come later on that one! I just wanted to tell the world and all of my family and friends that me and Dusty made it 10 years and hopefully we will make it many, many more!!!

Zoo trip!

My niece Katherine and my two sister in laws came down this week and we all decided to go to the zoo. Ryan hasn't been since his 2nd birthday and Jordyn hasn't been since Becca took her last year I think, so I thought it would be fun to go. Ryan was so funny. He was in heaven. He loved all the animals and was having so much fun. It was great! Jordyn enjoyed it as well, but not as much as Ryan. Ryans favorite part was the snakes......of course. I hate snakes, but I tolerated them so he could see them. I was freaking out on the inside the whole time!! Jordyns favorite was the penguins. She was just fascinated with them for some reason. It was really fun. Becca brought her two kids that she nannies and they seemed to enjoy it as well. It was a little colder than I would have liked, but I would rather it be cold than to hot!!! It was a great time with the family!

I took Jordyn to the eye doctor about a week and 1/2 ago and we found out that she has an astigmatism and needed glasses. I wasn't surprised because both me and Dusty had glasses when we were younger. We picked out her frames and they called today and they were in!!! So we went and picked them up and they look sooooo cute on her. I love them! They make her big blue eyes even bigger.........I LOVE IT!!!

Jordyn came downstairs today and said "Look at my cute hat mommy!". I looked over and this is what I saw.
I thought it was the cutest thing. Then she proceeded to pose on the floor and said take another picture, and this is what that looked like.
All I have to say is that I am sooooo fortunate to be a stay at home mom and witness these sweet and adorable things my kids do!

Dying Easter Eggs!

The weather outside sucks right now and my kids have been begging me to dye eggs ever since I got the kit, so we decided to do it today!!! I got the sparkle egg kit this time and it was pretty cool. Jordyn is all about the bling so to have it on her easter eggs was the ultimate! Ryan wanted to make an egg for his teacher also, which I thought was cute. It was just me and the kids this year doing it which was kind of nice. Good times with me and my kiddles!!!

My brother-n-law and his family came to visit us this past weekend and the girls had a blast. It is so nice to have cousins that are close enough in age that they can play together. They entertained each other the whole weekend! They had a little movie party and watched Peter Pan while laying on pillows and covered in blankets. They were so cute together! Usually they fight a little bit, but this weekend it was just fun times! Cousins=Friends!!!

Scrap Happy!!!

Me and Shelly went to a scrap camp thing this weekend and it was a blast. We got there at 9am on Saturday and didn't leave until around 830 pm!! About 11 hours of scrapping. I got sooo much done! I did 29 pages that day!!! It was so much fun that we are going to do it again in July when they have one! They do it at the P.G. rec. center and it is actually a 2 day thing! You can go from Friday at 4pm to Saturday at 9pm. Me and Shelly opted just to do the Saturday and not both. I think that is what we will do next time too! So much fun and good sister time too!!!

So my sister-in-law Linda has been painting her cupboards in her kitchen and is going to be painting the walls. It has been a long process, but it has turned out to look really really nice, so I decided that I want to do it too!! So this past weekend I decided that I was going to paint my walls by my cupboards, and what better color to do it in than my favorite RED! If you remember I did one wall in my kitchen red and LOVE IT, so I decided why not do the same color under and over my cupboards. I did it and I love it! Now the next step is doing my cupboards. I hate them now and really want to change them. I don't have the $$$ to buy new ones, so painting them is the only way. I am not excited. Linda has been doing hers FOREVER and it has been a really hard job. But I am excited for the end result. Here are some pics of my kitchen now!

Wow I cannot believe that it has almost been a month since my last post. SOOOO not like me. Well Jordyn has been bugging me FOREVER to put her in dance. I would put her off by saying "they aren't doing dance right now" while I was waiting for the rec center to start their dance program. Then one day my friend from High school posted that she was signing her daughter up for dance at Hot Shots, and I decided okay I was going to do it. Today was her first day at class and she was soooooo excited. She has been dying to go ever since I told her that I was signing her up. So being the camera happy mom that I am I had to take pictures of her in her little outfit. I didn't get any of her in class because you are behind this mirror thing and it just isn't a very good picture taking setup. She will have a performance some time in May. They are doing Alice in Wonderland theme. I am soooo excited. I will be doing video and pictures for sure.

I wanted to let my sisters know how much I love them and appreciate their support!!! They have always been there for me no matter what. Whether its to borrow me money to fix the stupid water valve in this stupid house or just to listen to me gripe about something that me and Dusty are fighting about. They are always there. I am so fortunate to have you guys as my sisters. Thank you for being such great and awesome people!!! We may get into arguments every once in a while but I always know that you will be there when I need you most. Thanks guys!!! I LOVE YOUR FACES!!!!

Today is my moms 53rd birthday. She died when I was 15 years old and I miss her every minute of every single day. She was the best mom I could have ever asked for. She was my friend. I knew that she would know the right thing to say to me whenever I was down. She was taken from this earth to soon. I know she is in heaven right now watching over me and my family. I am sad that my kids will never know how great a person she was. She would have loved to be a grandma. My niece Nichole Mae is in heaven with her so I guess she does get to be one there. What gets me through the hard times is the knowledge that I believe that when I die I will see her again. HaPpY bIrThDaY mOm!! I know that you are here with me in spirit!

We went up to Idaho to Dustys moms for Christmas this year. It was really fun. Linda and Reggie and their family came up as well. The kids loved being at Grandmas for Christmas. Ryan go his huge NERF gun that he asked Santa for and Jordyn got her Art Easel (which I somehow did not get a picture of! :( ). It was nice being with lots of family for the Holiday. Me and the kids decided to make sugar cookies and frost them for Santa this year. It was loads of fun!!! The kids had a great time being very creative with the ways they decorated them. I love this time of year. I get to do all these fun things with my kids. It is great to be a mom!!!
